Abstract

This article aims to identify the main pathological manifestations found in two residential buildings located in the municipality of Santo Antônio de Pádua / RJ, their possible causes will be investigated and some repair solutions suggested. It is of utmost importance to analyze all types of pathological manifestations that are present in buildings, as they can cause buildings to lose their expected performance or even structural stability, thus putting users of the building at risk, a major factor for the appearance of these manifestations is the lack of predictive and preventive maintenance. The method to be used is proposed by Lichtenstein, which consists of three stages. The first is the gathering of information, through the collected data, inspection, investigation and history of the problem, the second stage is the elaboration of the diagnosis and finally the third stage is made, which is the definition of the conduct that should be taken to solve the problem. problem. After completing all the steps, it can be said that it is difficult to find buildings that do not have pathological manifestations, be they simple or complex.
