A reflection on the performance of the School/Educational Psychologist in the school context

Abstract

Abstract: This work intends to present the knowledge about the field of work of the school psychologist and its areas in conjunction with education, which emerged with the school psychologist in the educational context. School/Educational Psychology began with Psychology in General courses. For this study, a qualitative and descriptive biographical research was carried out on the subject, with a field research with two school psychologists, from private institutions, one from the city of Niterói and the other from the city of São Gonçalo. The results found, with the biographical research and the field research, demonstrated the importance of the psychologist's performance in the school environment and it was also evidenced that the psychologist is still not valued. There is still much to be done in the field of research and studies in the area.
