Abstract

Throughout history, Physical Education has had different objectives and concepts that have influenced and, to date, influence School Physical Education (EFE). This is a discipline that integrates students into the body culture of movement, enabling them to experience different movements in games, sports, fights, and at the same time, forming citizens. The importance of EFE is well analyzed and discussed in the context of Brazilian education and around the world and has an important act that represents educating students in a theoretical and practical way so that they have experiences and know how to live in a social environment. To this end, a bibliographical research was carried out on the subject, with the objective of reflecting on the EFE and its importance in the integral development of the student, seeking to understand the relevance of the innovative didactic actions of the teacher in his/her teaching-learning process and the proposal of a transformative education. As a result, it was concluded that EFE is considered a cultural practice, and it is necessary to seek a balance between contents, objectives and methodologies and to give priority to the issue of diversity, as cultural contexts are diverse.
