CHILD SUICIDE: a lucid and real act?
Abstract
Suicide is defined as the act of intentionally ending one's life. The phenomenon corresponds to a serious public health problem. It is a difficult topic to be addressed as it is a taboo subject for society. The present study sought to carry out a narrative literature review, with the aim of carrying out a critical and reflective analysis of the scientific works produced about child suicide. In addition, this article also aimed to discuss and think about new perspectives related to child suicide, it could be debated issues related to the understanding of the irreversibility of death for children and psychiatric suffering in childhood. It stands out that it is necessary to produce more research related to the topic, and it is also necessary to develop better prevention policies related to childhood suicide.
