A A FINE DIAGNOSTIC LINE:
The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and The Bipolar Affective Disorder (BAD) in childhood and adolescence.
Abstract
In the present study, it is approached the difficulty in diagnosing children and adolescents who present isolated symptoms or comorbidities of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Bipolar Disorder (BD). The aim of the study was to draw attention to psychopathological situations in which diagnoses can be mistaken due to the fine line between the symptoms of the two psychopathologies. A review of national and foreign literature was carried out on both psychopathologies, including the “State of the Art” taking into account to accept or refute the hypothesis that there is a fine line with consequent diagnostic difficulties regarding the common symptoms of ADHD and BD. The conclusion is based on studies by the Mayo Clinic, DSM-5-TR and the Daviss e Bond which are detailed in the final considerations.
