USE OF SCREEN AND THE DANGERS TO THE MENTAL HEALTH OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
Abstract
This TCC addresses the topic "Screen Use and the Dangers to the Mental Health of Children and Adolescents", examining how excessive time on electronic devices can impact the psychological well-being of this public. The articles were chosen through Google Scholar, Scielo and journalistic websites, which discuss recent data that connect prolonged use of screens to psychological and physical problems and socialization difficulties. Furthermore, it discusses the role of social networks in the formation of self-esteem and social comparisons, as well as the impact of exposure to inappropriate content. The work also explores strategies to mitigate these risks, including promoting limits on technology use. In the end, it is concluded that, although technology offers benefits, its use must be balanced to preserve the mental health of new generations.
