CONSIDERAÇÕES SOBRE O LUTO E SEUS EFEITOS NA ATUALIDADE
Abstract
This article deals with the theme of death through the centuries, so that it’s possible to understand the construction of the taboo around death, which is seen as an enemy, shameful and interdicted. The process of grief varies according to the individual's age group, their emotional structure, the capacity to deal with losses and the type of bond that the subject possesses with the lost object. Grief’s defined as a subjective experience of coping with the rupture of a bond that, for psychoanalysis, involves a process of redistribution of the libido before invested in the object of lost love. In this process it’s necessary to symbolize and elaborate the loss to rediscover new paths to the desire, it takes some time and involves some regret because isn’t only to find new objects, but to elaborate the conscious and unconscious fantasies that are activated with the loss of object. Through the research (ARIÈS, 1977) it was discovered that the reactions and manifestations of grief are influenced by the socioeconomic and cultural context, where each society manifests its own rules about grief, thus defining the way in which the subject must mourn and develop norms such as: when, where, how, for how long and by whom the individual can live in mourning.
