Abstract

The active role of teachers as mediators and facilitators, in the use of communication and mediation strategies to create a peaceful and productive learning environment, is essential for the effective management of conflicts in the classroom. Therefore, this work aims to analyze the role of teachers in managing conflicts in the classroom and how they can improve their mediation and facilitation skills to create a healthier educational environment. The study was based on research in books, journal articles and undergraduate and postgraduate coursework on subjects related to conflict management in schools, especially during classes. Topics covered included the concept of conflict and its classification, the reasons why conflicts can arise in classes, and the most effective methods for managing these conflicts. Teachers help build a more cooperative and respectful school community by teaching students mediation and conflict resolution skills. Using conflict management techniques improves the learning environment and prepares students to deal with social and emotional challenges with competence and confidence.
